Blinky Profile:
Tom Brantley Fiddle - Baritone Vocals
Tom is currently on sabbatical and the fiddle spot is being filled Tim
Smith.
Tom Brantley started playing the fiddle after hearing a live
performance from a once popular East Tennessee group "The
Pinnacle Boys" which featured the twin fiddles of Jerry
Moore and Randle Collins.  The first bluegrass Tom heard was
as a child watching Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs and the
Foggy Mountain Boys on the great television version of their
show.  From that point on, bluegrass was embedded into his
heart, soul, and mind.  The influences of two great
fiddlers, Kenny Baker and Byron Berline, has fueled Tom's
desire to become the very best he can be.
Tom's fiddle playing has been heard from coast to coast as a
member of "Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver" in early 2002, and
also as a member of the group he now tours with "New Road" a
very popular all gospel bluegrass band also from East
Tennessee.  In 1989 Tom picked up the coveted first place
award for bluegrass fiddle at the "Galax Old Fiddlers
Convention" in Galax, Virginia.  In addition to his stellar
fiddle playing, Tom sings most of the baritone parts these
days.  Tom and Lynn have been playing music together for
over 20 years.
Fiddle: Arthur Conner and early 1800's copy of a Gaspard Duiffopruggar.
